The KJO-Varma rivalry is a matter of the past, Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship (2019) poster evokes a ‘wow’ from Varma

They were once bitter rivals, with Ram Gopal Varma often taking potshots at Karan Johar. Their war of words, largely fought on Twitter made headlines on entertainment dailies/portals. All that though is a matter of the past. Varma and Johar have not only buried the hatchet, but they’ve found mutual respect for each other. In a gracious gesture, Ram Gopal Varma has given the title of his film Bhoot (2003) to Dharma Productions winter horror thriller Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship (2019).
Thanking Varma for the gesture, Johar said in a statement, “I made an unreasonable request to Ramu, asking him for his franchise title BHOOT and he graciously and magnanimously agreed to give it to us without even blinking an eyelid. All of us at Dharma are blown away by his generosity and are eternally grateful to him. We aspire to make sure the title is in the right hands of horror.”
The new bonhomie was reflected in Varma’s Tweet as he was floored by the Bhoot poster.
“Hey @karanjohar the poster is looking WOW! Can’t wait to see the intense @vickykaushal09 in this genre,” tweeted Varma.

Bhoot is being produced by Dharma Productions and Shashank Khaitan, it will be helmed by first time filmmaker Bhanu Pratap Singh. The film is set to be released on 15 November.
As the title suggest, it is a horror thriller that is set in a ship. The film has been shot in Gujarat. The first poster merely shows a broken porthole and a creepy hand holding a petrified Kaushal by his face.
Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship is perhaps the first Hindi horror film to be set in a ship.
