The YRF film has so far bagged Rs217.50 crore nett in India business
Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer War continues to shine at the box office. The YRF movie made Rs11 crore nett on it’s eight day to take its domestic business to Rs217.50 crore nett so far, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Made at an estimated budget of Rs200 crore, War has released in about 4000 screen in India [all languages[. War is the first film for both Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff to hit Rs200 crore nett in domestic business.
Both Roshan and Shroff an naturally overwhelmed by the positive response to the film from the audiences.
“We wanted to make a film that raises the bar of action films in India and could truly compete with the best of action spectacles being made in the West. We are all delighted that War has done just that and is getting incredible love and appreciation from audiences across the world,” Roshan said in a statement
Roshan has been particularly pleased with War being able to match Hollywood films in term of action.
“War is a genre-defining action film and I’m extremely happy for the entire cast and crew of War because we all have given our all and more to make this film a cut above. I’m delighted that YRF has again done something completely out of the box and given India a new action franchise. I’m overjoyed and humbled about the number of records that War has created so far,” added Roshan.
Tiger says, “I’m simply overwhelmed. It’s an absolute blessing that our film has been accepted widely and it’s definitely going to be a special one forever because I got to do this with my hero my idol Hrithik Roshan who I aspire to be and who I am inspired by, “ said Shroff.
It is a maiden YRF movie for Shroff and he expressed his gratitude to YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra.
Says Shroff, “It is also my first time working with Yash Raj Films Production, Adi Chopra and I have had such a ball working with his production house. I am really appreciative of the fact that any brief encounter or interaction I had with Adi sir he would always listen and hear my opinions out. I found that to be something that I felt really touched about the fact that he could listen to somebody who is so junior to him in the industry. “
YRF has sold the satellite rights to Star Gold. As per sources, the digital rights have been sold to Amazon Prime Video for around Rs65 crore.
