The social comedy, that released in 3000 screens in India, has a good opening weekend

Ayushmann Khurrana is enjoying the finest run of his career. After delivery six successive hits, Khurrana is likely to add another one to his tally as his latest release Bala (2019) has had a fine start. The Amar Kaushik helmed comedy bagged Rs42 crore nett in its opening weekend, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
After opening with Rs9.50 crore nett, Bala made Rs15 crore nett and Rs17 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The Jio Studios, Maddock Films’ co-production is Khurrana’s biggest release [3000 screens]. Bala is said to be made at an estimated budget of Rs45 crore. Bala also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam.
Meanwhile, holdover release Housefull 4 (2019) made Rs9.50 crore nett in its third weekend. The Fox Star Studios film has so made Rs194.11 crore nett in domestic business. The film though has courted controversy over alleged fudged figures. Largely panned by critics, Housefull 4 though has turned out to be the most successful film in the franchise.
