The young actress will be playing the role of a girl with speech impairment in the Milap Zaveri film
Tara Sutaria is gearing up for her next release Marjaavaan (2019. The young actress, who made her debut with Student of the Year 2 (2019), finds herself playing a different role in her second film. From playing the student in the Karan Johar film, Sutaria will be seen in the role of a speech-impaired girl, Zoya.
With no dialogues, Sutaria had to rely solely on her expressions. Naturally, as part of her prep, she had to learn sign language.
“[Director] Milap [Zaveri] narrated the script when I was shooting my first film Student Of The Year 2. I remember thinking that I have to be a part of this movie. I spent four months learning sign language and I think it’s a beautiful way to communicate,” Sutaria said in a statement.
“I hope I have done justice to the role and people love Zoya the way I do. As a young actor, I feel lucky to play a part where one has to communicate just through sign language and expressions. It was a challenging role, but absolutely worth it,” added Sutaria.
Sutaria shares screen space with Sidharth Malhotra. Marjaavaan also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Riteish Deshmukh, who plays a dwarf and the main antagonist. Marjaavaan is set to be released on 15 November.
