When the trailer of Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak was out few weeks ago, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel had thanked team Chhapaak saying that this film will win lot of hearts and tears for lead actress Deepika Padukone and director Gulzar.
Today Kangana Ranaut has expressed her gratitude towards Padukone, Gulzar and team Chhapaak for making a film on an acid attack victim.
[Chhapaak is inspired by the story of acid attack victim and social activist Laxmi Agarwal. Chandel herself has been an acid attack survivor]
“I recently watched the trailer of Chhapaak . It rekindled the sad memories of the incident [acid attack] that occurred with my sister Rangoli (Chandel). The courage shown by my sister inspires me to fight all obstacles. Her smile is enough for me take panga [fight] with every pain,” Kangana said in a video posted by Chandel on Twitter.
The Panga actress felt that this will give hope and courage to all acid attack victims and it will be a slap on the faces of those criminals who threw acid on these women.
“Today, my family and I thank Deepika Padukone, Meghna Gulzar for making a film on this issue. This film will inspire all those [acid attack victims] who have lost the will to live. This film will be a slap to those beasts who may have succeeded in their act, but not in their thoughts. They broke their victims’ spirit by defacing them, but through this film, each of those face will be brightened and it will be a triumph of their beautiful courage. Acid sale should be stopped completely and I wish the best to team Chhapaak,” added Ranaut.
