Critics can have their say but numbers don’t lie. Two months ago, T-Series had launched the remake of Falguni Pathak’s single Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi [2000] that was created by Lalit Sen. The remake by Tanishk Bagchi has now bagged over 200 millions on YouTube. Divya, who is the lead face of the song, stepped out with her husband Bhushan Kumar and song directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. Singer Neha Kakkar was missing but a few young fans got the opportunity to share the stage with Divya.

93.5 FM RJ Rishi Kapoor hosted the event entertaining the audience with his Punjabi-style humour. The one person who caught everyone’s attention was Tanmay Khilnani, a 22-year-old dental student who put on a terrific show dancing with Divya Khosla Kumar. Though a big boy, Khilnani proved yet again why dancing is all about grace. The Mumbai lad was cheered on by the capacity crowd at Sin City Lounge.

The song has proved to be a huge hit with the youth, and that is evident from the numerous videos that fans have posted on TikTok, YouTube and other social media verticals. Kumar’s visit to six colleges during promotions naturally helped in connecting with the target audience better.

Arijit Singh’s Tum Hi Ho from Aashiqui 2 [2013], a T-Series produced film album, has bagged 237 million views in seven years. Interestingly, in two months alone, Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi had garnered over 200 million views on YouTube.

There was the usual expression of gratitude, words that we also heard during the launch two months ago. There was the expected announcement of the second part of the futuristic track going on floors soon. T-Series unveiled a teaser poster of the part two of the remake.

In case, you still haven’t watched the song, then watch part one of Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi below.
