Malvani cop also denies nasty rumours linking Pancholi to Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput deaths. Pancholi slams rumour mongers for being disrespectful to Salian’s family

There has been plenty of theories floating around the suspected suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput (34). Five days before his death on June 14, Rajput’s former manager Disha Salian had died after falling off a high rise apartment in Malad, Mumbai. In the last few days, social media has been abuzz with bizarre conspiracy theories linking actor Sooraj Pancholi and superstar Salman Khan to the two deaths.
Some dubious Twitter handle had alleged that Pancholi had an affair with Salian and drawn similarities with the 2013 Jiah Khan suicide case. The rumours suggested that Rajput tried to help Salian, but then Salman Khan got involved and maybe the Dabangg 3 star was responsible for Rajput and Salian’s death.
BeyondBollywood spoke to Pancholi who scoffed at these theories and vehemently denied knowing Salian.
“I don’t even know Disha. I never met her in my life. I only knew about her after her death, and then later Sushant’s death, that too through social media. I’d never interacted, don’t know what she even looked like.” Pancholi told BeyondBollywood.
The Satellite Shankar actor felt that the conspiracy theories being posted on social media were more like a movie script. Says he, “People who have nothing to do have written it like a movie script. It looks like a script that has gone wrong. I feel I’ll be wasting my time if I give a statement to something as disgusting, inappropriate and insensitive as that.”
The actor opined that such gossip stories were disrespectful to the deceased and her family. “It is inappropriate to talk [like this] about people who are no longer there. Think about the girl’s family, her brother and sister, and what they are going through right now. It is disheartening not because they are writing about me but you are writing this about someone who is not there anymore,” said Pancholi.
When asked whether he suspects anyone behind these conspiracy theories Pancholi replied, “I don’t suspect anyone. Honestly, right now, any article, social media, WhatsApp post will spread faster than Coronavirus.”
We spoke to Sr. Inspector Jagdev Kalapad, Malvani Police Station who is investigating Disha Salian’s case. When asked whether Salian had any connection with Pancholi, and whether her post mortem revealed any pregnancy or abortion, Kalapad simply said, “Nahi, aisa kuch nahi hain (No, there is nothing like that.”
On June 9, 2020 at around 1.00 am, Salian had fallen to her death from the 14 floor apartment of her fiancé Rohan Rai.
In 2013, Pancholi had courted controversy when actress Jiah Khan committed suicide on 3 June. Later, a suicide note was found where it was alleged that Khan had indirectly pinned the blame on her former boyfriend Pancholi, who was then accused of abetting her suicide.
In 2016, Central Bureau of Investigation had ruled out murder in the case. Jiah’s mother Rabia had continued to move courts seeking justice for her daughter. In January, 2018, a Mumbai Sessions Court had framed the abetment charge against Pancholi. The matter is sub-judice.
When asked about the current status in the Jiah Khan case, Pancholi said, “Look whenever I’ve been asked of the case, like in my previous interviews, I’ve always said that I’ve been present on all court dates. It’s been more than seven years. Why is Rabia Khan never present [in the court]. Does she really want justice ?”
