Abhishek Bachchan to be discharged soon? 26 staffers of the family test negative

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya, who showed mild symptoms of Covid-19, were advised home quarantine.

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan, who were recently admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after testing positive for the novel Coronavirus, are said to be recovering well. It is buzzed that Abhishek Bachchan could be discharged soon.

In another positive development, 26 staffers of the Bachchan family, who came in close proximity with them, have tested negative for Covid-19, as reported by The Indian Express. In all, 54 people who came in close contact with the family were tested. Out of the 54, 26 staffers tested negative, while the remaining 28 people are reportedly sent to home quarantine.

Press Trust of India quoted a hospital source as saying, “They [Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan] are in the (isolation) ward and are clinically stable. At present, they do not require any aggressive treatment. They are okay with the first line of medication. They are being given supportive therapy. Their vitals and appetite are fine.”

The Bachchan family’s four bungalows in Juhu have been sealed by the BMC [Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation] following their positive test results.

Abhishek Bachchan’s wife and fellow actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and their daughter Aaradhya (8) Bachchan had also tested positive for the virus on Sunday [12 July]. But their tests showed mild symptoms and the duo were advised home quarantine.

Amitabh Bachchan’s wife and actor, politician Jaya Bachchan tested negative for the virus. Amit Sadh, Abhishek Bachchan’s co-star from his recently released web series ‘Breathe Into the Shadows’ [2020] has also tested negative.
