Kareena Kapoor Khan recently completed 20 years into the film industry. She had made her debut with J.P Dutta’s Refugee [2000]. Kapoor’s has had a fairly successful career, but most of her big hits have largely come in films that were led by a male superstar. The nepotism debate is raging like a fire. However, the daughter of Randhir Kapoor has iterated that she wouldn’t have survived this long into the industry if it was only for nepotism.

“The audience has made us, no one else has made us. Same people pointing fingers are the ones who have made these nepotistic stars right? Aap jaa re ho na film dekhne? Mat jao (You are going to watch our films, don’t go). Nobody has forced you. So I don’t understand it. I find this whole discussion is completely weird,” Kapoor made this strong comment in a recent interview with TV journalist Barkha Dutt.

The Good Newwz actor [2019] also stated she couldn’t be apologetic about her privilege.

“It might sound weird but probably my struggle is there. My struggle is there but it isn’t as interesting as somebody who comes with just Rs 10 in his pocket in a train. Yeah, it’s not been that and I can’t be apologetic about it.” said Kareena.

Kapoor’s comments haven’t gone down well with Kangana Ranaut, rather team Kangana Ranaut who used Kapoor’s comments to once again take a veiled dig at producer Karan Johar.

Tagging a news article on Kareena Kapoor’s interview, team Kangana Ranaut tweeted, “Yes Kareena ji, audience has made you all rich and famous but they didn’t know after getting undeserving success you all will turn Bollywood in to Bullywood, please explain

1) Why your best friend asked Kangana to leave the industry?..(1/3″

There were some more tough questions posed by Team Kangana Ranaut.

“2) Why Sushant was banned from big production houses?
3) Why they called Kangana a witch and Sushant a rapist ?
4) Why your ecosystem call Kangana and Sushant Bipolar?
5) Why your fellow nepo kid after promising marriage filed criminal cases on her ?..(2/3)”, tweeted Kangana’s team.

Team Kangana Ranaut also asked Kapoor why was Sushant Singh Rajput isolated by certain Bollywood cliques?

“6) Why Kangana and Sushant isolated in the industry never called for any parties? No one wishes them on their film releases birthdays or successes?..(3/3)”.

There was more onslaught as team Kangana felt that the nepotism beneficiaries were trying to derail the pressing issue. Team Kangana Ranaut didn’t shy from even referring to artistes like Kareena Kapoor Khan as ‘dumbo nepo kids’.

“Warning to all dumb nepo kids, don’t try and derail the topic, we don’t have any problem with your privileges, our problem is the way you treat us, Sushant has been murdered by your bullying and ganging up, he complained about film industry suffocating him and…(1/2)

wanted to quit he also cried that you all called him a rapist and never gave him credit for his work, lets talk about these things how many films or dresses you have is not the topic of discussion right now, address these issues please .(2/2),” tweeted team Kangana Ranaut.

Before Sushant Singh Rajpur’s father K.K Singh made sensational allegations against Rajput’s girl friend Rhea Chakraborty, Ranaut and many publications, had opined that it was nepotism, gangism by Bollywood legacy studios that perhaps drove Rajput to suicide. Rajput was founded dead on 14 June in his Mumbai apartment.
