A few media houses had wrongly claimed that the girl with Panhcoli in a group picture was the late Disha Salian

Earlier today [5 August] Disha Salian’s father Satish Salian lashed out at certain erroneous media, politicians for creating fake news around the death of her daughter. Satish Salian had called for a strong action against such offenders. Sadly, barely few hours after Salian’s letter to Malvani ACP Dilip Yadav was made public, certain erroneous reporting left the erstwhile Indian media embarrassed. Some news channels, and a few portals jumped the gun wrongly linking actor Sooraj Pancholi to the Disha Salian death case.
Without verifying the above picture, some media reports claimed that the girl standing to Pancholi’s right is Disha Salian and that the Hero actor had lied about never meeting Salian – as told exclusively to Beyond Bollywood earlier.
A furious Pancholi lashed out at the latest fake news, clarifying that the girl in question is not Disha Salian but his US-based friend Anushri Gaur.
“Complete bullshit!! #F***YouFakeMEDIA. Is this the media we are supposed to trust? That girl in the picture which was clicked in 2016 is not “Disha Salian” that is my friend @agaur21 (Anushri Gaur) who doesn’t even live in India.
Please stop brainwashing people and PLEASE stop harassing me and dragging me into this ! Start being responsible of your actions as it can ruin someone’s life !I have said this before and I’m saying it again “I have never met or spoken to Disha Salian in my life”Seriously F*** YOU AND F*** YOUR FAKE NEWS! I’ve had enough,” and angry Pancholi posted on his Instagram account.
In a Whats App chat with us later, Pancholi clarified that the picture was taken on the occasion of his Hero co-actor Athiya Shetty’s birthday [5 November] in 2016 at Worli, Mumbai. “It’s unfair not only for me but [also] for Disha’s family,” Pancholi reiterated.
When asked would he contemplate legal action against the erring media, the actor simply said that he will look into it tomorrow.
Disha Salian, Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager had died on the night of 8 June after she fell from the 12 floor apartment of her boyfriend Rohan Rai in Malad, Mumbai. A case of accidental death has been registered at the Malvani police station.
