The legendary singer, who was earlier battling for his life, is now said to be in a stable condition

Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam who tested positive for the novel Coronavirus on 5 August has now tested negative for it. His son and playback singer, actor and producer Sripathi Panditharadhyula Charan has confirmed the same in a statement whilst adding that SPB is in a stable condition now. Issuing a statement on 24 August, SP Charan said, “Thanks for your continuous support and prayers for my father. My father is fine and stable and his Corona test has become negative. Will keep you posted about the updates.”
On Sunday (23 August) MGM Healthcare, Chennai where Balasubrahmanyam is currently admitted shared a health update about the singer which read, “SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare due to COVID-19 continues to be on ventilator and ECMO support in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His current clinical condition is stable and he continues to be closely monitored by our multidisciplinary clinical team.”
The 74 year old singer had opted for hospitalisation keeping his family in mind even though his symptoms were mild. SPB, on 5 August had taken to his Instagram handle assuring his friends and fans that he was in good health and in good hands and urged them not to worry.
On August 13, his health deteriorated, following which he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital and was kept under life support. On 20 August, the state of Tamil Nadu, including the entire film fraternity gathered for a prayer meet for the speedy recovery of the legend.
While the entire nation is praying for SPB, his son has said that he and the doctors are confident of the veteran singer’s recovery. Charan further added that it is going to be a slow recovery for his father.
