The case of Sushant Singh Rajput just keeps getting murkier. From nepotism to murder and now the drug angle has allegedly emerged in the actor’s case. The pressure has all the more piled up on main accused Rhea Chakraborty with a news channel claiming that the actress was allegedly administering harmful drugs to the actor. Times Now has made these claims based on the Whats App chats between Chakraborty and one alleged drug dealer Gaurav and one Jaya Shah – said to be an official of the talent management agency KWAN.
Eight chats were accessed by Times Now which shows that the ‘Jalebi’ (2018) actress was allegedly using illegal drugs such as MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine). This is indicated in a chat claimed to have been between the actress and one Gaurav an alleged drug dealer.
According to Times Now, in another chat, Chakraborty went on to ask Gaurav if he has MD which is supposed to be a stronger drug.
“Narcotics link in SSR death? WhatsApp chat exposes the ‘drug conspiracy’. Chat 2: ‘You have MD?’, chat between Rhea & Gaurav who is allegedly a drug dealer. Navika Kumar on @thenewshour. | #RheaDrugsChat”, Times Now posted the excerpt from its prime time bulletin last night.
In another of the chats accessed by Times Now that supposedly took place in November 2019 between Rhea and Jaya Saha, it is claimed that Saha told Chakraborty that she had asked him (unknown) to coordinate with Shruti Modi, the business manager of Rajput, and reach it up. It is alleged via these conversations that the drugs were being sent to Sushant’s residence. Rhea further went on to thank Saha to which the latter replies saying no problem.

In the same conversation that took place on 25 November, 2019, Jaya allegedly told Chakraborty , “Use 4 drops in tea, let him (presumed to be Rajput) sip it …. Give it 30-40 mins to kick in.”
In reaction to this conversation, Times Now went on to question if the autopsy was delayed to allow the drugs to degrade in the body so that it cannot be detected anymore.
“Narcotics link in SSR death? WhatsApp chat exposes the ‘drug conspiracy’. CLINCHER part of CHAT 5: ‘Use 4 drops in tea, let him sip it …. Give it 30-40 mins to kick in’, Jaya Saha to Rhea. Rahul Shivshankar with details on @thenewshour with Navika Kumar. | #RheaDrugsChat”, Times Now tweeted
Another conversation took place between Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda who is Sushant’s house manager, on 17 April 2020 wherein Miranda is asking the actress if they should take it (drugs) from Showik’s (Chakraborty’s brother) friend as he only has ‘hash’ and ‘bud’.
Times Now tweeted, “Narcotics link in SSR death? WhatsApp chat exposes the ‘drug conspiracy’. Chat 6: ‘Should we take it from Showik’s friend? But he has just hash & bud’, Miranda to Rhea.Navika Kumar on @thenewshour. | #RheaDrugsChat.”
These conversations, as claimed by Times Now indicate that Chakraborty was perhaps in touch with drug dealers since 2017 was a using them herself as well. In reaction to these conversations, Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti demanded an immediate action from the CBI.
Kirti tweeted, “This is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE!! An immediate action should be taken by CBI on this. #RheaDrugsChat.”
Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde has denied all the allegations of drug usage against the actress. Issuing a statement, Maneshinde quoted, “Rhea has never consumed drugs in her life ever. She is ready for a blood test.”
The case is now being handled by the CBI. With the drug angle simmering in, the Narcotics Controls Bureau, too, is likely to step in.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on 14 June.
