In an exhaustive interview with Rajdeep Sardesai of TV Today Network, Rhea Chakraborty has bared her side of the story in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The Narcotics Control Bureau has registered a case against Chakraborty to probe the drug angle being talked about in the case. The Enforcement Directorate is probing alleged money laundering, while CBI is is investigating Rajput’s death where she stands as a main accused.
Asked about the reported drug dealer connection, Chakraborty said, “That was the only [allegation] left. Crucify me. Get a gun and make my family stand in line and shoot us all. I deny all these allegations. I wouldn’t like to talk about it.”
Hotelier Gaurav Arya has come under the scanner as the leaked WhatsApp chats of Chakraborty point to her allegedly coordinating with Arya to get drugs. When asked whether she took MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) , Chakraborty said, “Never taken drugs. I’m willing to do a drug test. I do know him [Arya] but I deny the content of this [drug] conversation.”
In another leaked conversation, Chakraborty allegedly mixed Cannabidiol (CBD) drops in Rajput’s coffee at the behest one individual Jaya Saha, said to be an employee of the celebrity management agency KWAN.
“I didn’t want to give it to him. He was taking it on his own. (In fact), it was Sushant who had asked Jaya as an alternate therapy. I was just involved in the coordination. I don’t want to go into this conversation,” said the Jalebi actor.
Sardesai brought out reports of house manager Samuel Miranda telling Chakraborty about the stock being over.
“It is unfortunate that all this conversation is happening after a person’s death. Sushant used to smoke marijuana regularly. I think he was into it at the time of Kedarnath or before it. I wanted to control his habit. But he was was a man of his own choice. He chose what he wanted him to do. I tried to get him to reduce it,” claimed Chakraborty.
“If he wanted to take drugs, medication, he would do it. I have never taken drugs with him,” Chakraborty asserted.
Rajput was found dead on 14 June in his Bandra apartment.
