The Midhun Manuel Thomas directed crime thriller starred Kunchacko Boban

Reliance Entertainment, the media and entertainment arm of Reliance group, announced today (31 August) that it will be joining hands with Ashiq Usman Productions and AP International for the remake of the Malayalam crime thriller ‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ (2020). The original film which released earlier this year was produced by Ashiq Usman, and written and directed by filmmaker Midhun Manuel Thomas.
The Malayalam original revolves around a serial killer who goes berserk, ruthlessly killing innocent policemen, and stars Kunchacko Boban, Sharaf U Dheen, Unnimaya Prasad, Jinu Joseph and Sreenath Bhasi in key roles. The film was lauded and received positive reviews from all corners and went on to become one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of the year.
Talking about the film, Reliance Entertainment’s Group CEO, Shibasish Sarkar said in a statement, “‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ is one of those slick thrillers that keep you on the edge of the seat! We are happy to remake the cult film for audiences across the country and the globe!”
Ashiq Usman who is the Managing Partner of Ashiq Usman Productions was elated regarding the remake. “Anjaam Pathiraa’ is a riveting psycho murder thriller. I am proud to say it was the biggest blockbuster of the year. And I am happy to be associated with Reliance Entertainment and AP international for the remake of the film,” said Usman.
