The Akshay Kumar versus Aamir Khan Christmas 2020 clash has been averted. This after Kumar and producer Sajid Nadiadwala agreed to shift their film Bachchan Pandey to 22 January, 2021. Aamir was quick to thank Kumar and Nadiadwala for the gesture. Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha [2020] will now enjoy a solo release on Christmas.

“Sometimes all it takes is one conversation. Thank you to my friends @akshaykumar & Sajid Nadiadwala for their warm gesture of moving the release date of their film Bachchan Pandey at my request. I wish them the very best for their film. Looking forward to it. Love,” Khan tweeted.

While’s they’ve never shared the screen together, but the duo do have great respect for each other. This respect was further reflected when Kumar replied to Khan’s tweet saying that we are all friends. Kumar also revealed his look as Bachchan Pandey.

“Anytime @aamir_khan , we’re all friends here. Presenting – new look, new release date. Coming on 22nd January, 2021. In and as #BachchanPandey! #SajidNadiadwala
@farhad_samji @kritisanon,” tweeted Kumar.

Well, the battle of beards is averted. Khan plays a Sikh in the Forrest Gump [1994] remake. When the title was first announced, one wondered whether Bachchan Pandey was any fanfare film, correlating to the legend Amitabh Bachchan.

Well, save for the first name, Kumar’s look suggests that this story could be something totally different. The one-eyed, bearded, wrapped with heavy gold chains Bachchan Pandey looks very menacing and intimidating. Kumar looks more like a warlord here. With Farhad Samji as the director, we presume this to be a comedy. Nevertheless, Kumar’ s look is simply stunning. Kriti Sanon is paired opposite Kumar in Bachchan Pandey.

With the two strong films now separated, trade will now heave a sigh of relief. This is particularly good news for Aamir Khan who is coming on the back of a poor showing in Thugs of Hindostan [2018].
