The Pavitra Rishta [2009-2014] actor finds it hard to believe that someone as positive as Rajput could kill himself

Ankita Lokhande has spoken for the first time since the death of her former boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. Speaking exclusively to Republic World Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, Lokhande has urged all to stop saying that the actor was depressed.
Republic TV shared excerpts from the interview in their prime time bulletin The Debate on 30 July. Goswami began the interview mocking at the narrative of people trying to prove that Rajput was mentally ill. Goswami asked Lokhande what she made of this whole depression narrative.?
“First of all when this news came in, it was .. [pauses] everywhere that he committed suicide. It took time to accept this, but I want to tell everyone right now that Sushant was not the kind of guy who would be in depression. He was a happy-go-lucky guy. ” said Lokhande.
The Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi [2019] actress was taken aback by the alacrity at judging this as a suicide. “How can one term it suicide within 15 minutes [of Rajput being found dead] ?. Photos, videos were leaked. I don’t know what happened, but from what I knew of him, he is not a depressed guy,” Lokhande claimed.
Lokhande described Rajput as a man who wrote his dreams in his diary and he had achieved all of them. She said, “It was said that he was depressed . Such a wrong word to use. He can’t be depressed. He can be upset about few things, … depression is a very big word to use for somebody sir. Unless and until you know the reasons, but Sushant wasn’t the guy who could be depressed. He’s been called bipolar that is a big thing to call.. I can say confidently that he wasn’t depressed.”

After the initial hullabaloo around nepotism perhaps leaving Rajput depressed, the focus has now shifted to Rajput’s girl friend Rhea Chakraborty, who has been absconding following the FIR filed by Rajput’s father K.K. Singh in a Patna police station on 25 July. Singh has accused Rhea and her family of fraud, cheating and driving his son to suicide.
