All it takes is a tweet to create a storm. And often, it is not just the one who puts it, but in a film industry, a reckless tweet by one can be embarrassing for the entire film too. Producer, director Karan Johar and his Dharma Productions are facing the heat over poet, lyricist Hussain Haidry, controversial tweet. Haidry has penned dialogues for Takht.
Early this morning [24 February], Haidry created a storm on Twitter with his ‘Hindu terrorists’ tweet. Haidry’s Tweets are protected but a screenshot of the controversial tweet, allegedly posted by Haidry, was earlier captured by angry netizens.

It didn’t take long for netizens to figure out that the poet-lyricist has also written the dialogues for Karan Johar’s Takht. Once that was established, their ire now turned towards Karan Johar, with the aggrieved netizens calling for the film to be boycotted and also questioning Johar as to how he could hire Haidry?
Here are few tweets by angry netizens.
There are calls from netizens demanding Haidry’s removal from the film. But so far Karan Johar hasn’t reacted to the controversy.
Efforts to reach Haidry were futile. His facebook account though is full of content that is aimed at beating Islamophobia. Interestingly, it begs the question why would then such a man post a Hindu phobic tweet?
It remains to be seen how Dharma Productions intend to address this issue. Directed and produced by Johar, Takht stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. The epic film is based on Mughal rulers Dara Shukoh and his deceiving brother Aurangzeb.
