Rhea Chakraborty’s exclusive interview to Rajdeep Sardesai of TV Today Network will air tonight [27 August] at 7.00 pm on Aaj Tak and 9.00 pm on India Today Television. While there has been calls to block the interview, but the nation is likely to be glued to it. In the promos, Chakraborty has strongly denied getting any IT professional to delete the hard drive of Sushant Singh Rajput’s laptop/desktop. Chakraborty is said to have walked out of Rajput’s home on 8 June.
Last evening, Times Now and Republic TV had claimed that after Chakraborty left, next day some IT guys had come to Rajput’s house and taken away hard drives. Reportedly, when Rajput confronted the men, he was supposedly warned to toe the line.
Siddharth Pithani is said to have told the above to CBI. Chakraborty, though, has called these stories as baseless.
“This is a completely baseless allegation. There is no hard drive that I am aware of, There is no person. Nothing happened till the time I was there in the house. After I left, it was his sister who stayed with him from 8 to 13 June. She should be knowing about all such talks. No such thing happened in my presence,” Chakraborty told India Today Television/Aaj Tak.
In the promo, Chakraborty hasn’t clarified which sister had stayed with Sushant in that period. Buzz has it that it was either Priyanka Singh or Meetu Singh who had stayed with Rajput for a couple of days after Chakraborty left the house.
Upon being asked would she confront Pithani, Chakraborty didn’t hesitate in doing so, however, she refused to believe that Rajput’s flatmate would have said such a thing.
“I don’t believe he would have said something like this. I believe this is another cooked up story. It’s become a daily norm,” said the lalebi [2018] actor.
Later in the promo, Chakraboty claims that it was Rajput who had ended the relationship.
“I was definitely very upset and hurt. I felt hurt that he didn’t call me back. Is it over for him? Just because you are sick you are leaving me,” said Chakraborty
One of the allegations against Chakraborty is that she had fired the previous house staff of Rajput. The actress though has vehemently denied hiring or firing anyone.
Says Chakraborty, “This is baseless allegation. The staff in the last year and half – Siddharth Pithani, he was there with Sushant before I stepped in his house. (Samuel) Miranda – housemanager, he was hired by Sushant’s sister Priyanka (Singh) before me. The cook Keshav, cleaner Neeraj, Dipesh, Sushant knew them before me. I didn’t know any of them.”
Controversial film producer Ssandip Singh, who claims to be a good friend of the late actor, was also questioned by Chakraborty.
“I don’t know Sandip Ssingh. Where was he in the last year and a half? Sushant never shared his name. He (Singh) never came to the house. I’m sure you won’t find any mention of him in Sushant’s call logs,” said Chakraborty.
Rajput was found dead in his Bandra home on 14 June.
